CB, CFB and CF explained

CB is the top sheet, CFB is used for intermediate sheets and CF is the bottom sheet. The letters describe the coated sides.

CB — Coated Back

The back-coated top sheet transfers the impression to the receiving layer below.

The sheet coated on both sides receives the impression from above and transfers it onward.

The front-coated bottom sheet is the final receiving layer in the set.
